Our Projects

Fundy Albert Basketball Association (FABA)

Basketball is where our story began, and it has since grown into the Fundy Albert Basketball Association (FABA). Through FABA, we provide youth with structured opportunities to learn the game, develop their skills, and grow as teammates. What began as a fundamentals program has become a community-wide initiative, connecting players, coaches, and families. With a focus on patience, focus, and teamwork, FABA carries the spirit of The Empty Cup — using sport as a way to nurture resilience and connection.

Hillsborough Hornets Soccer (Partnership)

Soccer has long been a part of Hillsborough’s story through the Hillsborough Hornets. Rather than starting something new, The Empty Cup Project chose to partner with the Hornets — supporting their program with funding, volunteers, and fresh ideas. Together, we’ve worked to enhance the experience for players by weaving in our values of mindfulness, presence, and connection. Through this partnership, soccer becomes more than a game: it becomes a way to grow friendships, build confidence, and connect body and mind.

Wellness & Coaching (Emerging)

Looking ahead, we are building the foundations for mental wellness support and coaching programs. These will bring reflection, resilience, and mindfulness practices into the heart of our work. Just as our sports programs strengthen the body and community, our wellness initiatives will help young people strengthen the mind and spirit. This is the next step in our journey, and one we are approaching with patience and care.
